Our client is a national charity dedicated to providing high-quality, personalised support to adults with learning disabilities. 

Position: Support Worker 
Location: Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire 
Contract type: Permanent 
Hours: Full & Part Time Available 
Salary: £7.62 

About the Role: 

Do you want you to be part of an exciting team providing high quality support to people with learning disabilities, autism and needs that may challenge who live close to Huntingdon? 

They are looking for staff who are Patient, have a good sense of humour and who are committed to provide support on good and bad days. 

You may be asked to provide support in some or all of the following areas: 

-Support with shopping, assisting with budgeting 
-Building/maintaining relationships with friends and family 
-Household tasks like cooking, cleaning and laundry 
-Personal Care, e.g. helping someone to bathe 
- Social and emotional support 

Sharing your interests and hobbies with the people you will provide support for and helping them to access their local community. 

Their staff tell them that “No two days are the same…We might be at the supermarket on Tuesday, the football on Saturday and losing our voices at a rock concert…!” 

About You: 

You will need to have excellent communication skills and be able to use a range of skills to support people who may have little or no verbal communication, to enable them to actively participate in choices about their life. You will need to work flexibly and participate in shift work, including weekends and Bank holidays. 

The people you will be supporting enjoy taking part in a variety of activities and hobbies and you will be supporting them to access these as well as looking for other opportunities people may like to try. For this role you need to be patient, have good sense of humour and be able to support people through good and bad days. We are looking for people who are committed to supporting the people we work with who are honest and reliable, who can be creative and flexible in their approach, enhancing peoples opportunities to grow and develop.
