We have a vacancy for the role of Faculty of Physician Associates Manager. The Faculty of Physician Associates (FPA) provides professional support to physician associates across the UK. The FPA reviews and sets standards for:
- the education and training of physician associates
- accreditation of university programmes and
- Physician associate national certification and recertification examinations.
The Faculty of Physicians Associates Manager is responsible for leading a small team to support the faculty’s growth and development. Physician Associates are a rapidly growing segment of the healthcare workforce and this is an exciting time to join the team. This role will involve a large amount of project management, planning and communications with key stakeholders
Successful candidate will:
- have excellent organisation and communication skills
- be a self-starters
- have the ability to work autonomously, using their own initiative
- proactively build relationships across the board, within the FPA board and external organisations
About the FPA:
The role of physician associate (PA) has been in existence internationally for over fifty years, but only ten years in the UK and so is still being established in this region. The strategic development of the FPA, including its work in the areas of education and training, examinations, and professional conduct needs to be carefully planned, implemented, and communicated so that the profession meets the needs and is accepted by the healthcare workforce and the public. Working closely with the faculty of physician associates coordinator, and other RCP departments the post holder will be responsible for managing and providing direction across the full FPA strategy.
