An exciting Support Coordinator Role with a Housing Charity 

Our client is a charity and Registered Social Landlord that provides a range of housing and varied support services to vulnerable people through a dedicated team of staff located throughout England. Their aim is to support people in achieving their full potential. They offer their services to anyone in need respecting their faith, culture and social background. They work in partnership with 35 local authorities and have a growing network of over 50 services across the UK. 

Position: Floating Support Coordinator 
Location: St Andrews House, Exmouth 
Contract: Permanent, full time 
Hours: 37.5 per week 
Salary: £20,788 - £22,841

About The Role 

An exciting opportunity has arisen within their Mental Health Services in Exeter & East Devon. The services currently consist of one location in Exmouth (6 Care Unit beds and 11 supported accommodation beds), one in Exeter (4 supported accommodation beds in a shared house), Floating Support Services across Exeter & East Devon and an Education, Training & Employment project providing volunteering and job opportunities for clients. 

The Exmouth service specialises in working with people with mental health difficulties. They provide support to 6 clients in a care unit, supported accommodation for 11 clients and a floating support service. They have a dedicated support team who provide recovery-focused support to their clients in addressing identified support needs and empowering them to work in a recovery focused way that will enable them to progress to future independent living. In line with assisting people to successfully move-on, a floating support service was developed initially by staff. 

The floating support service has rapidly expanded within the last 18 months and they now receive referrals from other providers and Exeter and East Devon Community Mental Health Teams. The team now consists of 4 full-time Floating Support Workers and they are looking for a Floating Support Co-ordinator to join and oversee their dedicated team to provide assessment, monitoring, support planning and advocacy for their clients within the community, as well as provide line management of the Floating Support Workers and Relief Workers within the service. 

The successful candidates will be responsible for: 

-Effectively managing an assigned caseload of clients in the community; contingent on needs, strengths, abilities and preferences of the clients of the service. 
-Providing assessment, monitoring, support planning, linkage and advocacy for clients involved in the service. 
-Possessing a clear understanding of the service delivery and resources available for those clients who experience mental health issues. 
-Providing line management of the team to include induction, probationary assessments, regular supervision and appraisals. 
-Actively promoting the service and seeking new referrals. 

About you: 

Candidates will need a patient and calm professional manner and a fair and non-discriminatory, non-judgemental approach. Proven experience of working with clients with mental health difficulties and who are difficult to engage is essential, as are good I.C.T., administration and communication skills. Proven experience of managing a team of people, along with experience of providing regular supervision is also essential. Ability to work flexible hours to include evenings, weekends and possible sleep-in shifts will be required, as is a full driving licence and access to a vehicle to maximise the ability to travel effectively within the geographical location of East Devon. 

A Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced Certificate will be required for this role.
