Business Development

Following a successful start to a charity based in London are looking to grow their business development team. We are seeking applications from candidates who are interested in shaping our substance misuse and employment services, which work with some of the most excluded people in society.

We have the flexibility to take on new starters at different stages in their career. For those at an early stage or seeking to switch specialisms, we have the BD Executive role. We will help you learn a full suite of business development skills “on the job”, whilst you support Forward’s ongoing growth by assisting with compelling new service offers.

If you have a track record in BD, or relevant similar experience, we have the BD Manager role. In this position you will be expected to take a leading role in the full business development lifecycle from the outset - from identifying and evaluating potential new opportunities and project managing the development of innovative proposals, through to assisting with the implementation of contracts we win.

Day-to-day work at both levels is varied and demanding, we are looking for candidates with:

  • Exceptional writing skills

  • Ability to research and analyse new subject areas, absorbing information rapidly to influence the development of models and service offers

  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Commercial awareness and interest in Forward’s wider strategic environment

  • Project management skills

  • Ability to meet challenging deadlines whilst balancing competing priorities

  • Flexibility to pursue ad-hoc development tasks as they arise

  • Interest in learning new skills and supporting the continuous improvement of the wider business development function

In-depth knowledge of drug and alcohol misuse treatments and markets is not a prerequisite for either role. The successful candidate will be supported to build a broad substance misuse knowledge-base.

To apply, please click on the link and you will be forwarded to the charitys website to complete your application.  Please note that we are unable to accept CV’s.

Please ensure your supporting statement lists clear examples which demonstrate your competencies in relation to the person specification and being the right candidate for the role. Please ensure you provide specific examples from previous work experience on how you meet each criterion. (Please use additional sheets if necessary)
