Our client provides a range of housing and day support services in a manner that promotes self-esteem, respect and independence to people disadvantaged by housing circumstances or social need.

One of their services provides housing-related support for people with multiple or complex needs who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. They are currently seeking a Floating Support Worker to join this team in Bradford. The main purpose of this role is to assist clients with multiple needs to access or maintain appropriate sustainable accommodation and in the practical and emotional aspects of maintaining their homes and enjoying a positive life in the community.

Within this role your main responsibilities will include working constructively with clients through Support and Risk Management Plans to address various needs (income and money management, tenancy management, personal hygiene, cooking and diet, emotional health and wellbeing etc); providing a supportive atmosphere for clients, encouraging feedback on the service, welcoming complaints and responding appropriately and ensuring that professional boundaries between staff and clients are maintained at all times. You will also be expected to accurately maintain all client and scheme related written and electronic records; ensure that financial and monitoring systems are adhered to in line with financial regulations and participating in meetings as required.

The successful candidate will have worked within a similar role previously, will have experience of working with vulnerable people and their associated support needs (drug use, alcohol use, mental health issues, disabilities, tenancy management etc) and will be confident in assisting clients with the practical tasks involved in maintaining their own homes. You will ideally hold a relevant qualification along with an awareness of the agencies available to clients in statutory and voluntary sector and basic knowledge of the welfare benefits system. Highly organised, you will be capable of planning and prioritising a busy workload and you will be confident computer user. It is essential that you hold a full UK driving licence and that you have access to a vehicle for work purposes.
