Head of Development

- Contract Type
The College of St George is a religious community of lay and ordained people held together by a common purpose - to worship God and to serve the community at large.
Founded in 1348 by Edward III, the College reflects the past through its long and rich heritage by virtue of being the oldest continuous religious community in Britain, but it also holds a window up to the modern day through its inter-faith and educational work.
The College is responsible for St. George’s Chapel, which is the resting place of ten monarchs of the realm, including Henry VIII and Charles 1. As a ‘Royal Peculiar’ it is independent of the Crown, Church and State and as a result it is entirely self-financing.
Along with the responsibility for the up-keep of historic and nationally important buildings, St. George’s Chapel and House, the College also curates a library of some 600 ancient and important books, maintains the chapel choir and mounts a series of consultations each year that tackle some of the most important issues of the day that face both religious and secular communities across the country and beyond.
Words cannot fully convey what a truly unique and fascinating fundraising opportunity the Head of Development represents.
It is a role that carries with it important sensitivities and the appointment will require someone who is completely attuned to the core mission of The College, its heritage and the aspirations for the future.
