A great opportunity has arisen for a Senior Copywriter for health related charity in order to lead the development of key editorial messages and communications, supporting teams, including fundraising, across the charity to articulate their activities and build lasting and effective relationships with their stakeholders. Senior Copywriter will ensure that accuracy, quality and a strong tone of voice are present in all communications. . This will be a permanent role based in London.
Key Responsibilities will include:
Develop engaging key messages to articulate the charity brand, as well as producing bespoke messages for major activities and campaigns.
Plan, research, write and edit content for teams across the organisation, including Fundraising, Policy and Campaigns, Public Health Information and Research.
Take a lead role in the development of supporter communications across channels including email, website, print and video.
Ensure the accuracy of communications by upholding brand, editorial and house style guidelines and putting in place good processes for acquiring sign off.
Lead the charity s copywriting service, working closely with the Senior Brand Manager and other members of the Brand and Communications team to support the marketing and stewardship activities of teams across the charity.
Act as content lead for major campaigns and fundraising activities, attending brainstorms, sitting on working groups/project boards and participating in evaluations.
Take accurate briefs, challenging them where necessary, and work across the full life-cycle of written projects from first draft to final proofread.
In order to apply you should have the following skills and experience:
Demonstrable experience producing engaging and inspiring copy for a range of audiences and channels.
Experience writing digital communications, particularly e-newsletters and website content, and a solid understanding of how write copy from an SEO point of view
Proven experience of managing projects from brief to finished product, with the ability to prioritise, manage own time and work on several briefs at once
A track record of developing and embedding a tone of voice and house style, and working with others to put in place effective briefing and sign off processes
Some experience coaching and developing others to produce content
Write, edit and proofread for a wide range of different channels covering print and digital communications.
Experience working with designers
Experience of fundraising communications and of working within the charity sector
Experience interviewing and working with case studies
Experience of content planning
