About the role

A fantastic new opportunity has opened up within our international finance team in London for an Institutional Financial Accountant who will provide support to the International Directorate on all aspects of institutional donor financial management and to be the first source of financial management surge support to large and complex international institutional donor projects.

About the team
The post holder is managed by the Head of International Finance and is responsible for providing financial management for global and multi-country institutional donor projects that cross over International Directorate Regions, providing financial surge support to large and complex international institutional donor projects and being the centre of institutional donor knowledge and advice in International Finance. The Institutional Funding Accountant will also provide business partner support to the British Red Cross's Cash & Markets team.

About the person
We are seeking a qualified accountant with experience of:

  • Developing financial systems to support international operations
  • Supporting the financial elements of institutional donor programmes
  • Supporting programme teams with budget and forecast preparation
  • Experience of risk management
  • Working with international programmes
  • Foreign currency monitoring and accounting


Candidates should also have strong audit and internal controls knowledge with the ability to highlight weaknesses and make appropriate recommendations as well as the ability to assimilate complex financial and written information quickly and accurately.
