Major Gifts Officer
Harris Hill are pleased to be working with an international medical aid organisation to find a Major Gifts Officer. You will be managing relationships with individuals, trusts & foundations, and corporate supporters to secure new funding from prospective donors.
To manage a portfolio of individual, trust and corporate donors (on average around 25,000 - 100,000 value)
Stewarding donors to ensure maximum income including creating personalised thank you letters, cards and proposals to donors
Cultivate and develop relationships with potential new major donors, in particular, focusing on corporates with potential to gift in excess of 25,000, securing funding and other types of support
Produce reports and updates to donors when needed, reporting can be thorough and complex and therefore may require a specific, detailed focus.
Attend donor meetings and events to represent the charity and develop relationships
Ensure database and other systems are up to date with donor records to ensure knowledge management and continuity, obeying with data protection legislation
Utilise knowledge gained from supporter and donor relationships to assist with improving the charity's major gifts strategy and grow income. For example, by planning future activities
You will have the following skills and experience:
Knowledge and experience of charity fundraising, preferably a trusts, major donor or corporate fundraising background , with a demonstrable record of handling donor relationships and producing substantial income as a result
Impeccable written and oral communication skills, with the ability to evaluate complex information and produce succinct, persuasive proposals and updates from this
Attention to detail, with excellent organisational skills including the ability to managing multiple tasks and prioritise
Excellent interpersonal, persuasion and negotiating skills, with diplomacy
The ability and flexibility to travel nationally and internationally with the charity
A high standard of analytical, written, and technical skills, competent in Microsoft office programmes
