Dame Vera Lynn Children's Charity is looking for a dynamic, experienced community fundraiser to step in for at least a year, as a maternity leave cover to raise awareness of and funds for the Charity, which provides an early intervention service and other support for families with very young children with cerebral palsy and other motor learning difficulties.
The Charity, which was founded in 2001 and has helped over 500 families from the South East, has only recently moved to Cuckfield (Dec. 2016) to open up its new centre and has been extremely fortunate and privileged to help celebrate the 100th Birthday of our founder and President, Dame Vera Lynn, in March 2017.
As a result, you will have a unique opportunity to capitalise on this goodwill and attention in order to identify and implement a grassroots fundraising strategy. You will be the face and voice of the Charity within our new community, building relationships with local businesses, professional and networking groups, schools, churches, golf and sporting venues, and individuals ensuring that they are aware of and motivated to support the Charity with fundraising, sponsorship or volunteering efforts. In addition, you will need to support those within our community who are putting on events to raise funds for us.
Your role is very much outward facing, ensuring that the Charity is positively represented within the community, but you will also need to work well within the wider fundraising department, and you will have specific responsibility for the Charity’s annual Arundel to Brighton Walk on 16th September 2017.
