St Catherine’s School, Greece
Founded in 1956, St Catherine’s School is a flourishing British international school, which occupies a beautiful site in northern Athens. It offers a fully-rounded education for boys and girls aged 3 to 18, and teaches over 1100 pupils of 54 different nationalities. The School’s internationally acclaimed reputation has been gained by achieving high academic standards within a well-taught, appropriately challenging, clearly defined, broad and balanced curriculum. It endeavours to foster a love of learning and fully develop pupils’ intellectual, social, physical and creative potential in anticipation that they will develop into sensitive, informed, decisive and capable global citizens of the future.
St Catherine's was highly praised in its recent 2016 Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) report and achieved the top ‘excellent’ rating in all areas. Responding to its success and popularity, the School is embarking on an expansion programme, which includes the acquisition of a large, adjacent plot on which it plans to develop a new school fit for the 21st century.
St Catherine’s now seeks an outstanding fundraiser who can build its development operations, raising significant philanthropic funds for essential building projects, sporting facilities, scholarships and bursaries. The postholder will be responsible for developing and implementing the School’s philanthropic fundraising strategy and for embedding a culture of philanthropy within its community. The Board of Governors and the Headmaster are extremely supportive of the need to grow the development function to support the School’s future expansion and fundraising activities.
St Catherine’s is looking for an individual with a strong track record in securing major gifts. Applicants must be able to develop and produce effective strategic plans and deliver them operationally. This is an exciting opportunity that will appeal especially to those with fundraising experience who are looking to further their career in an international context. It presents the chance to live in a beautiful country with an enviable climate, wonderful people, delicious cuisine and ancient architecture, cushioned by the supportive network of this excellent British international school.
Degree level education, strong leadership skills, an engaging personality, energy, a can-do attitude and excellent communication skills are all essential prerequisites.
The starting salary will be competitive, and dependent on relevant skills and experience.
