Eden Brown is delighted to be representing Candlelighters in their search for a Head of Operations to oversee the daily operational function of the charity and play a key part in assisting in their growth over the next few years.

This is a really exciting time to join the charity as a key member of the Senior Management Team, the work you deliver will have a direct impact on every family Candlelighters support today and in the future. Exciting growth plans will see the charity expanding the support for families in 2017 and you will be joining at a pivotal time to help shape this.

Candlelighters was formed more than 40 years ago. They support families facing children's cancer in Yorkshire and are involved with a range of different projects to help ordinary families who are facing extraordinary circumstances. Children's cancer doesn't just affect the child diagnosed, it affects their whole family and beyond.

As Head of Operations you will be responsible for delivering the charities strategic plans in all areas of family support across a variety of sites. You will lead the service delivery team (7 staff, 2 direct reports) to support every family who requires support throughout dealing with the diagnosis of childhood cancer. As part of your role you will be responsible for collating regular evaluations and evidence for the wider charity team, charity director and board of trustees. As an ambassador for the charity and the families you represent, you will be required to present to a wide range of audiences and represent the charity externally.

We are looking for an inspirational and driven leader, with a 'can do' attitude and collaborative management approach; you will be at the forefront of supporting the families of children with cancer. You will have previous experience of organising projects and managing/ reporting against budget within a service delivery setting. As the sucessful candidate, you will have a background in social care and service delivery, ideally delivering services for families and children. Additionally, you will have an understanding of data protection and a commitment to safeguarding children as well as a proven track record in meeting and delivering targets from diverse projects and activities. You will have previous volunteer management experience along with a staff management background
