We are SafeLives, a national charity dedicated to ending domestic abuse. We are here for one simple reason: to make sure all families are safe. Our experts combine data, research and insight from services and survivors to find out what really works to make people safe.
In our first decade we transformed the UK’s approach to domestic abuse. And we want to achieve even more as we enter our second decade. That means finding every family where there is domestic abuse far earlier so we can get them the right help, supporting the whole family holistically, and challenging perpetrators to change their behaviour and be held to account.
Trustees x 2
You will be joining us at a hugely exciting time as our new strategy is underway. Your guidance and insight will help us lead and influence the future direction of the national response to domestic abuse, recognising how different forms of vulnerability are inextricably linked.
We are looking for two Trustees who are as committed as we are about ending domestic abuse and wider safeguarding issues. To enhance our Board and continue to develop our governance these individuals will have a breadth of key skills/experience including; a senior background in the health service (especially public health); child and/or adult safeguarding; communications and advocacy or financial oversight and expertise.
With one of these appointments we are particularly interested in extending our geographical reach including a Trustee based in Scotland. We welcome all candidates with these skills and with some experience of working on domestic abuse or related issues or a genuine interest in this area.
If you believe in our vision of a UK where every family is safe and are interested in learning more about this opportunity, please download the appointment brief on the Prospectus website which can be by clicking on the Apply button.
