Our client is currently looking for a strong Accounts Payable Assistant to join a leading Disabled Charity based in Peterborough.

Your main role is to assist in the effective operation of the corporate Accounts Payable team to ensure the timely payment of suppliers and accurate reporting of creditors and purchases.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Assist in ensuring the timely and accurate posting of supplier invoices in line with agreed procedures.

2. Assist in ensuring the timely payment of supplier invoices whilst considering cash flow requirement and supplier terms and discounts.

3. Assist in the maintenance of supplier records, ensuring new accounts are opened and existing accounts are updated in line with agreed procedures, with particular attention to changes in bank details.

4. Assist the input and payment of volunteer expenses.

5. Assist in the reconciliation of supplier statements including the investigation and resolution of any anomalies.

6. Ensure internal customer and external supplier queries and requests, both verbal and written, are dealt with promptly.

7. Assist with any special projects including development of systems processes and procedures as and when required and any other reasonable duties of a general nature, which may arise from time to time, as a result of the work of the Finance team.


Specialist Knowledge, Skills and Experience.
Experience of delivering accounts payable processes and procedures.
Ability to use Microsoft Office applications in particular Outlook, Word and Excel.
Experience of understanding and interpreting numerical information and undertaking numeric calculations.
Ability to use accounting packages such as Sage.
