Established in 1948, our client is the UK’s leading charity supporting disabled people. They provide supported living, care in people’s own homes, residential homes, day centres and respite services. With over 150 sites across the UK, they are dedicated to attracting the highest calibre of employees across all areas of the Charity. 

They are looking for Support Workers to join their established teams at 3 Lavender Fields, Hitchin, and St Johns Road, Arlesey, which are supported living services supporting six people with learning and physical disabilities living in their own flats. 

Position: Support Workers 
Location: Hitchin (SG5 2JB) and Arlsey (SG15 6ST) 
Hours: Full time, part time and occasional hours 
Salary: up to £9.84 per hour (Contractual hours: days £7.27 / evenings & weekends £8.36 / Occasional hours: £8.20 days / £9.84 evenings & weekends)

About the role: 

You will be required to support personal hygiene needs and provide access to social / recreational activities within the community, working flexibly and creatively with service users and their families. You will ensure the needs of service users are met in positive and creative ways to achieve maximum independence to move onto independent living. 

This role can be challenging at times, but this is balanced by the unrivalled sense of long-term satisfaction it gives. It is an opportunity to be creative and feel inspired, both by your colleagues and the people you support. 

About you: 

You don’t need any specific qualifications or experience for this role but you will need plenty of enthusiasm and passion for their work. You’ll need to be compassionate and love working with people with their wellbeing as your top priority. You will also bring great positive energy and be able to work excellently as part of a team. 

Flexibility is important for this role as they work shifts and weekend working is often required. You must also be willing to attend regular training including QCF level 2 in care.
