Working for an International Development charity, you will be delivering a programme funded by DFID which focusses on gender equality and building resilience of communities and individuals. This is a contract to December 2017.

The Role
Promote and actively support the integration of equality principles within the work of the member agencies .and programmes
Design curriculum and tools, including behaviour change communication materials to support team in the implementation of the approach of engaging men and women on gender equality.
Lead on training and training of trainers (ToT) workshops for staff on approaches to engaging men and women on gender equality and gender based violence
Monitor and coach staff working in Chad, Sudan and South Sudan to ensure quality of approaches to addressing gender inequality
In conjunction with programme teams, develop core equality messages and approaches for the livelihoods, health, nutrition, WASH and DRR elements of the programme

The Candidate
Three years experience as a technical advisor in the overseas development context area of Equality / Gender Equality / Gender Based Violence
Post Graduate degree in a social science, human rights or development studies and substantial work experience related to equality and gender
Demonstrable understanding and knowledge of inequality and rights related to development and emergency contexts and specific skills and knowledge of gender inequality, gender analysis and prevention and response to Gender Based Violence
Proven experience in designing and implementing gender related training at organisational and community levels
Demonstrated experience developing strategies that promote gender equality, girls and womens participation and empowerment, mens engagement on gender equality/ GBV issues, cross gender dialogues, integrated cross-sectoral efforts and GBV prevention and response
Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time
