Where we are born, live, work and grow old are powerful influences on our health. We are working to ensure that where you live does not unfairly reduce the length of your life, or the quality of your health. People’s Health Trust believes passionately in a just society without health inequalities, and importantly, we believe that they are avoidable. That’s why we invest in local people with great ideas to take collective action to address the things that matter to them.

An independent charity, People’s Health Trust has received over £82m since 2011 to address health inequalities across England, Scotland and Wales and supported over 400,000 people to deliver 2,300 local initiatives making their neighbourhoods even better places to live.

People’s Health Trust
Trustee, Communications and Public Affairs

We are looking for someone with significant experience and in-depth understanding of communications and public affairs. Understanding of the political and parliamentary landscape, and how to navigate it, will also be very useful. You will need to share our passion in addressing health and social inequalities across the UK.

As a Trustee you will ensure the governance of our charity is of the highest quality and that we achieve against our ambitious strategy, which incorporates our mission and deep commitment to creating a clear and strong evidence base for addressing the wider social determinants of health.

Joining a high functioning and effective board, you will bring a vital perspective and provide insights to the Chief Executive, also ensuring that the Leadership Team is held to account for delivering the strategy. This is an excellent opportunity to shape the long term vision of the People’s Health Trust at the start of the new three-year vision.
