St Elizabeth's was established over 100 years ago by a Catholic Religious Order, the Daughters of the Cross of Liège, who are still providing active Trustees. St Elizabeth's is a charitable organisation providing life-long living and learning opportunities for people with severe epilepsy, associated neurological disorders, learning disabilities and other complex medical needs. They operate a Residential School/Children's Home, a Specialist FE College and a number of Residential Care bungalows with a combined annual turnover of c£20m. All three services operate on a 52-week basis and can take non-residential day placements.

St Elizabeth's are recruiting a Director of Finance, reporting in to the CEO and manages a team of fifty with five direct reports. The direct reports are made up of an IT Manager, Finance Manager, Contracts Manager, Head of Fundraising and Domestic Services Manager.

The main responsibilities of the Director of Finance will be to work closely with the CEO, Senior Management Team and Trustees on all financial / fundraising matters and aid the organisation in negotiating fees and contracts, making commercial decisions, planning and progressing cash flow, making ad hoc improvements to financial controls and procedures, overseeing the pension scheme, developing the fundraising team to ensure objectives and targets are met (including 8 retail outlets). Overall responsibility for all IT and making sure it is fit for purpose and to ensure Domestic Services is compliant and in budget.

This is an excellent opportunity to make change in an organisation that is truly making a difference. The successful candidate will hold a recognised accountancy qualification and have a track record in creating and leading high performing teams, delivering complex systems, process and cultural change programmes. Experience in managing different (non-finance) teams is desirable but not essential. Due to the heritage of the organisation and the internal stakeholders there is a need to be committed to the values and vision of the Christian ethos of the organisation.

St Elizabeth's Centre is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, vulnerable adults and young people. Successful applicant(s) will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS. As an equal opportunities employer, we welcome applications from all sections of the community.
