12 Month Fixed Term Contract (with possibility to extend)

37 hours per week Monday – Friday


Our client is currently recruiting for an After School Reading Coordinator for their

after-school initiative that supports parents/guardians of children in the infants stage of school (age 3-7) to take an active interest in their child’s reading and love of stories.


They are already established and have enjoyed great success so far.  Reporting to the Community Development / Regeneration team the post will be responsible for sharing this success across a larger geographical area, selling their franchises to other organisations and groups, delivering training and support packages to participants and managing and updating their resources online.


This role will involve working with communities, parents and children.  In order to deliver the requirements of the post, candidates will be expected to demonstrate experience in training, sales, and working with communities.  It is essential that you are a welsh speaker and are confident to develop and refine the commercial elements of their franchise in both English and Welsh as well as managing and updating resources.  In addition you will be required to develop a marketing strategy identifying key target communities and areas in terms of literacy needs and the potential market for franchises.  This will involve identifying and establishing contact with potential customers within target organisations and groups.


The successful candidate will have strong experience within a community role and will have worked in sales environment. It is essential that you are able to speak Welsh and have exceptional selling and delivering knowledge. As a minimum requirement you will have a GSCE or equivalent in English at C level or above and the ability to empower young people.  Additionally you must possess a good understanding of the barriers that prevent parents from taking an active role in their child’s literacy and the importance of supporting parents to do so.


You are required to hold a driving licence with a flexibility to work within the company and travel within the region.
