Why would someone want to work in your team?

The BHF is a fast paced, fun and challenging yet supportive place to work. It’s an exciting time to join given the committed support of our trustees, CEO, BHF funded researchers and our active fundraising board of senior volunteers.

High value fundraising has been identified as an area of opportunity and growth. By working in the philanthropy and partnerships team you get to be part of an ambitious, highly skilled team of fundraisers.

The team has already proven hugely successful in building high value relationships with individuals, corporate partners and grant making trusts, and has the desire to achieve even more in the months and years ahead.

We offer a wide range of development opportunities including internal courses, coaching and mentoring, shadowing and secondment as well as funding for external training.

What roles are you recruiting for?

We are recruiting for a new business lead and new business manager to build a robust pipeline of corporate partners across strategic, Charity of the Year (COTY) and commercial opportunities.

We are also looking for maternity cover for our head of philanthropy, a case for support writer to help the team build proposals and pitches, and a senior trusts officer to grow our portfolio of trusts.

To succeed you need to be proactive and positive with superb relationship and communication skills. You will be a team player who can work effectively with colleagues across the BHF, committed to delivering the BHF’s mission and vision, and living the BHF values: Informed, driven, brave and compassionate.

BHF research

What exciting projects are you working on?

The BHF is the largest funder of cardiovascular disease (CVD) research in Europe. The vital funds we raise support amazing scientists to carry out world class research that has a huge impact, not only on the lives of the 7 million people in the UK living with CVD, but also on people across the world.

We are working with the Frost family on the Miles Frost Fund which is a very important project to change how genetic testing for inherited heart conditions is carried out in the UK.

We have also just launched our new fundraising strategy so the next couple of years will be busy implementing this and raising even more money for the fight against CVD.

Your top tip for applicants?

Attitude is more important than experience! If you are motivated to succeed, we can support you to develop the skills needed.
