5 ways to make the most of a recruitment agency for your charity job search

We often get asked by candidates, why should I use an agency when looking for a role? If you’re wondering the same thing, here are five benefits of using an agency and how you can make the most of them.
1. In-depth sector knowledge
Candidates benefit from the market knowledge of long-standing consultants who make it their job to understand the sector and stay abreast of the latest and future trends. Make sure you ask them questions about the sector that you want to know more about, such as what skills are in highest demand - they can pass on relevant aspects of their valuable knowledge to help you with your job search and career goals.
2. Skills-matching to get you the right job for you
Agencies can match candidates’ skills and experience with the right job, giving you a realistic idea of whether you are a competitive candidate, so you don’t have to waste your time applying for jobs that you’re unlikely to get. If the recruitment consultant doesn’t proactively offer you this insight, make sure you ask for it.
