Macmillan Cancer Support is the UK’s leading cancer care charity, supporting millions of people every year.

Macmillan’s Corporate Partnerships team has partnerships with some of the UK’s largest companies including Boots, Marks & Spencer and Nationwide.

This role sits in Macmillan’s New Business Team (a sub team within Corporate Partnerships) and focuses on securing new partnerships with prospective companies. Reporting to the Senior New Business Manager you will lead on proposals, pitches and prospect stewardship for opportunities worth £150,000+. You will be responsible for bringing in three types of partnerships: charity of the year/fundraising partnerships, commercial partnerships and strategic partnerships, working with companies to create real change for people affected by cancer. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the most successful Corporate Partnerships teams in the sector.


Key duties

-  Writing charity of the year applications

-  Pitching to corporate prospects  

-  Prospecting companies to sponsor Macmillan events, including World’s Biggest Coffee Morning and Go Sober

-  Liaising with key internal stakeholders, including National Events, Policy, Campaigns teams

-  Building strong relationships with Macmillan’s service delivery functions, specifically the Energy Advice team and the Financial Guidance Team to best shape strategic partnership opportunities.

-  Representing Corporate Partnership team’s interest in organisational workstreams, such as Macmillan’s Money and Cancer Campaign

-  Making proactive asks to companies

-  Relationship building and networking with perspective prospects

-  Please note there is no line management responsibilities for this role.


What we’re looking for:

We are looking for someone with experience in stakeholder management, writing proposals and supporting on pitches - this experience could be from a role within the third-sector or from a sales or marketing role. Experience in writing charity of the year applications and securing commercial partnerships would be beneficial. You’ll need excellent written and verbal communications skills, a knack for cross-departmental working and the ability to understand and relay and complex policy and services information to corporate prospects. This role would be the perfect step up for someone currently in a corporate partnerships officer or executive role.
