The British Heart Foundation (BHF) is the nation's heart charity and funds over half of the UK's cardiovascular research in to improving the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of heart disease. For over 50 years our work has been central to the discoveries of vital treatments that are changing the fight against heart disease.

Our communications strategy is focussed on putting research at the heart of everything we do. However, we know that the public often don't perceive the BHF as a medical research charity and that our staff, volunteers and supporters don't always feel confident talking about our research and the impact it has made in saving and improving the lives of heart patients.

The BHF is looking for a dynamic internal communications specialist to lead a six month project with the aim of helping staff, volunteers and supporters to better communicate the life saving impact of BHF research. The role sits within BHF's research communications team.

The post will involve working with teams across the organisation, including fundraising, internal communications and the research team to deliver an internal campaign to improve knowledge and understanding of BHF research among staff, volunteers and supporters.

The Internal Research Communications Manager will also plan and develop new resources that can be used across the organisation to demonstrate the life saving impact of our research to the general public and supporters. This will include setting up a new internal hub for research resources that can be used by colleagues in their communications.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in internal communications and running internal change campaigns. Experience of writing research or science content for a lay audience is desired. With excellent interpersonal and presentation skills you will be a team player with a 'can-do' attitude.

To apply for this role please use the apply button to be redirected to our website. Our process involves submitting your CV and a covering letter, which should outline your interest and explain how you meet the role's criteria. Please note we will only accept applications via this method.

Please note this is a 6 month fixed term contract.
