About the role:
They now have an opportunity for a Senior Occupational Therapist to join their Independent Living department and provide strategic interventions to enable their customers to retain their independence and remain within their preferred living environments.
Their Occupational Therapist is well established and respected both in the organisation and with our partnering housing colleagues with a proven track record for meeting complex housing needs, making best use of adapted housing stock and recommending great adaptation design.
Managing a caseload of complex cases, you will use evidence-based principles to assess our customer’s housing needs, recommend equipment and adaptations and advise on re-housing.
What they’re looking for:
A Diploma / Degree in OT along with registration with HCPC
Experience of working in housing or Community Occupational Therapy teams delivering adaptations
Experience of staff management and recruitment
Knowledge of OT models of practice and of the OT process including DFGs
Strong Basic knowledge of current best practice in OT
Clinical experience and knowledge of disability and its physical and psychological impact on housing
Knowledge and understanding of a wide range of clinical conditions including neurological, orthopaedic, surgical and mental health
Commitment to patient-centred, non-discriminatory practice
Due to the nature of the role, you must be able to travel effectively and efficiently to their sites.
