With a permanent staff of c. 80, and reporting to the Head of HR & Operations, the role of the Human Resources Manager is to carry out the full range of HR duties, and to deputise for the Head of HR and Operations on an ad hoc basis. The role interacts with every member of staff and is a pivotal position within the organisation. The HR Manager will ideally be CIPD qualified or equivalent with proven experience of working in a similar management role and be a credible promoter of HR best practice who has the ability to understand, interpret and apply the spirit as well as the letter of legislation and regulation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Directly managing all aspects of the recruitment process, from advertisement to appointment, disseminating applications to relevant interview panel members, scheduling interviews and booking meeting spaces, drawing up offer and rejection correspondence, carrying out relevant safeguarding checks for all staff, acquiring successful candidates’ references; managing and overseeing onboarding of new staff;
  • Scheduling and overseeing annual performance and probationary reviews; undertaking exit procedures; organising company-wide training courses, working closely with line managers;
