Job Details

Prospectus is delighted to be partnering Respond, a unique organisation who provide specialist, therapeutic services to individuals with learning disabilities and autism, and their families, with the aim of reducing trauma and abuse and the impact thereof. They utilise their clinical expertise to develop and deliver unique advocacy and support services to individuals and as such, they have helped a substantial number of individuals nationally. At an exciting time of expansion for the charity, they are now recruiting a Senior Therapist to deliver therapeutic trauma informed services across the West Midlands.

As their Senior Therapist, you will work collaboratively with members of Respond's Transforming Care Pilot service to deliver therapeutic trauma informed services across the West Midlands region. With a focus of supporting the partnership to get people with learning disabilities, autism or both who are in hospital under the Mental Health Act back to their local community. In the role you will undertake a mix of clinical work and service design and delivery which may also include group work, psycho-education, workshops and case management. Finally, as their Senior Therapist you will provide clinical supervision and work with external organisations to equip them to embrace and embed a trauma informed approach that will enable them to improve their culture and services.

To be successful, you will be an experienced and clinically trained professional, registered with an appropriate body and have demonstrable practice experience of supporting individuals with learning disabilities and autism using a therapeutic approach. Due to the nature of this position, you must have extensive knowledge and understanding of the core issues of abuse and trauma and its effects upon individuals with additional needs. Finally, you will have exemplary communication skills with the ability to interact with a wide range of stakeholders including people with learning disabilities, professionals and families. A professional degree or equivalent experience in a related field is essential as is a strong professional development track record.

This is an incredible opportunity to join a unique charity as they expand their reach in supporting some of society's most vulnerable.
