Living Planet Centre Woking, Surrey GU21 4LL

PR Manager – The Role

Proactively generating positive and agenda-setting news coverage of WWF’s work in advocacy, campaigns and fundraising, you will help make our message the loudest, most respected and reliable in the UK media, and grasp the public and decision makers’ attention so they join the fight for our world!

By increasing WWF-UK’s profile in the media and building relationships with journalists, confidently pitching stories and ideas to media outlets you will maximise WWF’s coverage within a variety of media types including consumer lifestyle, national, broadcast, regional and digital. You will coach spokespeople for media interviews as well as monitor and evaluate the success of media activities. Important too will be the ability to support the delivery of integrated partnership campaigns around the upcoming and groundbreaking Netflix original documentary series, Our Planet, of which WWF is a partner.

PR Manager – Requirements

Educated to degree level or equivalent. You will have experience of working in a busy press office. An excellent communicator, you will have the ability to write and produce content to a high standard, at short notice and when under pressure. Through an excellent understanding of the media and social media landscapes, you will be adept at spotting and making the most of media opportunities. Experience of managing integrated PR campaigns and handling media and influencer trips is preferred.

Who are we?

WWF believes in a future where people and nature thrive.

Best known as the world’s leading conservation body, we’ve seen first-hand how wildlife, the environment and human activity are all interlinked.

That’s why our passion for safeguarding the natural world has to be backed up by other environmental action – tackling the global threat of climate change (through our big global campaigns like Earth Hour) and helping people to change the way they live to ease pressure on natural resources.

WWF is at the heart of global activities in all these areas. We have teams of highly skilled professionals working with governments, businesses and communities here in the UK and around the world.

PR Manager – How to Apply

If you have the skills to help WWF #FightForYourWorld, please visit our website via the link, complete the online registration and submit a copy of your up to date CV with cover letter highlighting why you are interested in this role and why you believe you are suited for the role.
