This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and ambitious fundraiser to make a real difference to the lives of people with cancer. Capitalising on recent growth and with the chance to really make your mark, your role is to engage and cultivate high-profile people; providing the highest level of stewardship, ensuring existing supporters feel valued and effective and inspire them to make further gifts to the charity. You will lead on the management and growth of the major giving programme, maintaining the charity's reputation for excellent events and communications.

Working closely with the Director of Fundraising, Head of Partnerships and Operations and colleagues in the wider Fundraising Team, you will build the pipeline and develop new ways to engage potential major donors.  You will also harness the support of our enthusiastic and influential Trustees and Leadership Team, involving them in asks and thanking, as well as attending events.

In order to be considered for this role, you will need to have significant experience of major donor fundraising and a proven track record of achieving four figure gifts as a minimum. You will have outstanding persuasion, negotiation and communication skills, along with the ability to develop strong relationships with high net worth individuals, Trustees and Directors. You will be able to trust your instincts when steering donor meetings and communications to get to the heart of what motivates someone and create compelling propositions which meet the needs of both them and the charity. You will have a solid understanding of the requirements for a successful major donor fundraising programme, as well as good knowledge of charity law in relation to major donor fundraising. You will need to be experienced and comfortable with managing budgets and forecasting.
