Join our trustees
We are appointing Trustees in 2019 and so are looking for exceptional people who share our vision and purpose to provide people affected by terminal illness in Brighton, Hove and neighbouring areas the very best care and support.
And we are doing far more than that because we’re part of what makes our local community such an amazing place. Our life-changing hospice care gives people living with terminal illness hope, purpose and possibility and we bring our community together to support families and individuals coping with bereavement.
We generate our income through a wide portfolio of income streams which includes Trading and Domiciliary care companies.
Who are we looking for?
We recognise new talent and expertise is needed and you don’t have to be an expert in hospice care or have trustee experience to be part of the team.
We recognise the enormous benefits of a diverse board and encourage applications from a range of backgrounds and experiences. Our Trustee Board is enriched by the wide mix of skills and perspectives.
We are particularly interested in hearing from you if you have expertise in:
- Financial Management
- Digital and/or IT capability
- Retail and/or Charity Fundraising
- Innovation, Change and Continuous improvement
- Health and Social Care operating environments and Commissioning
What to do next?
We welcome you to get in touch. In the first instance, please email trusteerecruitment@martlets.org.uk to request a discussion with one of our Trustees and/or Chairman.
Company
Martlets is a charity that cares for people living through a terminal illness in and around Brighton and Hove. We’re much more than a hospice and we’re working to change perceptions of hospice care. Today, most of our patients receive care in their own home. Our hospice in Hove is a place where patients and their families can use our therapeutic services, drop-in clinics, visit our in-patient unit or just sit and have a coffee in our café. Our community teams care for people living and dying at home. Families and loved ones are supported into bereavement. We run a 24/7 helpline for free, personal support, this a collaboration between Martlets and the Sussex Community Trust’s palliative care team. Our care is only free thanks to the generosity of local people; every donation will help us change lives.
