Salary: £47,000 per annum

Hours Per week: 35

Parkinson's UK drives better care, treatments and quality of life. Together we can bring forward the day when no one fears Parkinson's and you could be part of helping us achieve this.

With an estimated income budget of £37m for 2017 and some 480 staff, Parkinson’s UK continues to grow as a charity during our current ambitious five year strategy.

To support the growth and delivery of our work, we know the importance of ensuring that our finance reporting continues to meet the needs of our stakeholders.

We recognise that new opportunities are coming to us at an increased pace to support delivery of our expanding research programme, provide more support for our stakeholders (including greater use of technology) and to benefit from new opportunities for raising funds to support our work.

In response to the developments above, we have reviewed some key functions in the charity that are critical in support of our work. In doing so, we have been recruiting additional resources to the Finance and Internal Reporting Team to enhance how this function supports the expanding and changing nature of our work.

Reporting into the Deputy Director of Finance, IT and Performance, this key role will be responsible for:

  • the preparation of monthly management and annual accounts
  • leading the provision of appropriate finance business partnering to budget holders and directors across the organisation
  • planning the annual budget preparation process, including collating and assessing annual budgets ahead of senior management review
  • ensuring finance systems and reporting tools meet current and upcoming needs of the charity

To succeed in this role, you will:

  • be a qualified accountant with significant experience of team leadership and internal and external reporting
  • have a track record in the successful year end planning and preparation of consolidated and subsidiary annual accounts in the not for profit sector
  • have experience of planning, preparing and leading on annual budget processes and ongoing monthly reforecasting
  • demonstrate strong project management skills
  • demonstrate how your ability and experience resulted in the greater use of technology to improve processes and finance systems
  • have the knowledge to carry out business analysis and support peers in business decisions
  • have excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • demonstrate empathy with the aims, goals and values of the charity
