Due to recent movement in the team, our client, an entrepreneurial international development organisation, is seeking an interim Senior Manager, Operations. The Interim Senior Manager, Operations will oversee the team and the delivery of priorities, and review the current structure of the team and suggest changes to align with the strategic priorities. This is a six-month engagement to cover a period while the team structure is decided and will provide key support to the Director of Finance and Operations in an increasingly busy environment.

In this role you will provide leadership and guidance to the 5 person London operations team as well as the Africa teams, ensuring the continuity of operations across all geographies. You will oversee the team's management of risk, security, duty of care, governance/legal, procurement, contracting, IT and systems, and overall general administration and office management. Managing the global operations budget, you will oversee the operations aspects of the India project plan, compliance and due diligence. Another key deliverable will be to review the current risk management process and provide recommendations to re-energise and add value to this process, ensuring it feeds into strategic decisions

At the same time you will be tasked with reviewing the current team structure and priorities and provide recommendations to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness and implement actions and changes across Operations, Finance and People teams. Gaining a deep understanding of the current remit of the operations team, you will assess capabilities and recommend changes and priorities based on the organisation's strategic needs. Reviewing existing processes and procedures you will suggest potential simplification and automation and implement actions and changes.

The right person for this role will have significant senior operations and team building experience. You will need to be highly organised and able to multi task in a fast paced environment. A strategic thinker with demonstrable experience in driving change, you will be a natural leader who has built and managed teams. Strong reporting and analysis experience will also be important and you will need good Excel and PowerPoint skills.
