UK Country Director
Prospectus are currently working with an ambitious and successful international development NGO to recruit a new UK Country Director.
This award-winning charity only works in communities where there is a real need, want and willingness to improve the lives of children and young people. It offers long-term programmes that are bespoke to each community, reflecting local cultural, economic, political and environmental contexts. With growth and investment into programmes, fundraising and management systems, there is now a need to diversify and grow income further to sustain this expansion.
The UK Country Director is an existing position and part of the Senior Management team, reporting directly to the board of trustees. The position has responsibility for all UK office activities with a heavy focus on fundraising from multiple income streams including major gifts, trusts, corporates, statutory and events. The position will require the ability to be a "hands-on" fundraiser and develop the organisations funding strategy to meet increasing programme requirements. There will be a team to manage, currently with 4 direct reports (2part time and 2full time) and the opportunity to develop the team further in future.
We are looking for a career focused and driven individual with excellent senior management skills and the ability to secure income from a wide variety of sources. You should be a strategic thinker and skilled communicator with a passion for empowering children in Africa. Whilst previous experience in a senior fundraising position is preferred I am also considering applications from candidates with corporate backgrounds.
