I CAN, the UK’s leading children’s communication charity, have an opportunity for a motivated relationship fundraising professional to make a real difference to the lives of children in the UK.
I CAN believes that language is a fundamental life skill, essential for all learning and for making friends. In some areas in the UK, over 50 per cent of children arrive at school without the basic language skills they need for learning.
Through its training programmes and interventions, specialist schools, valuable resources and information outputs, and hosting of The Communication Trust, I CAN provides critical support to children of all ages and the children’s workforce.
Thousands of nurseries and schools across the UK benefit from its evidence-based programmes and I CAN itself runs two special schools for children and young people with the most severe and complex communication needs.
I CAN has ambitious plans for growth over the next three years and needs to grow its voluntary fundraising income to allow the charity to develop pioneering new approaches to support children who have trouble communicating.
Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy and a key part of the team, the new Philanthropy Manager will be committed to I CAN’s cause and will significantly improve our performance in building long term engaging relationships and raising funds.
