Media and Public Affairs Officer

As the UK’s leading debt advice charity, our client provides advice and support to people in severe financial difficulty. Alongside the direct advice and support they provide, they campaign and lobby for change. In recent years they have been at the forefront of the campaign for greater regulation of payday loans and they are currently campaigning on a number of fronts including credit card reform, a cap on unauthorised overdraft charges and a new scheme to provide better help and support to people in debt.

Their continued development depends on being able to get their messages across and to build their presence in the minds of consumers and in the arena of public debate. Their work has a real impact on policy, legislation and regulation meaning that more people are protected from falling into problem debt, and debt is easier to manage and quicker to recover from when it does strike.
