Groupwork Facilitator / Project Facilitator

Position: Groupwork Facilitator 
Location: Kent and Thames Valley 
Contract type: Permanent 
Hours: part time, 18.75 hours per week 
Salary: £11,500 per annum (£23,000 pro rata)

About the role: 

The position of the Groupwork Facilitator is a new post created to deliver courses, including family and relationship group work, in prisons across Kent and The Thames Valley with a specific focus on the NOMs CFO3 Contract. As the Groupwork Facilitator, you will ensure the delivery and continued development of consistently high quality, cost-effective and responsive services, grounded in their mission, vision and values. 

As a Groupwork Facilitator you will facilitate and deliver group programmes including ASDAN. You will ensure that monthly targets are achieved in line with the NOMS CFO3 payment by results contract. 

You will also work closely with other organisation employees working in groupwork and interventions including the Groupwork Quality and Development Manager and the Family Engagement Manager. You will teach the courses according to the guidance in the manuals provided and scripted texts for communication with family members, but adopting a range of approaches to engaging with participants and achieving the learning outcomes. 

About you: 

To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrable experience of delivering successful training programmes or group work. Experience of working within a prison or criminal justice setting is desirable; or evidence of experience of working in a related field. You will also have an Adult training qualification. 

In addition, you will have knowledge and understanding of the theoretical links between desistance (from offending) and family dynamics/inter-personal relationships. You will also have knowledge of safeguarding / child protection practice and possess excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a demanding work load. 
Furthermore you will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work in partnership with a range of agencies. You will have excellent facilitation and presentation skills and be effective in the use of ICT including databases for the recording of course attendance, statistics and outcomes measurement.
