A fantastic opportunity to join an inspiring international development charity where you will develop relationships with existing and new High Value supporters to secure financial support and help them deliver health and medical care to those worst affected by conflict, occupation and displacement.


The Company
This organisation provides immediate aid to those in need at times of crisis. They are also committed to bearing witness to the impact of occupation, displacement and conflict on health and wellbeing, and campaign for the realisation of rights to health and dignity.


The Role
To drive income by instigating and developing relationships with existing and new High Value supporters, including those in the UAE and elsewhere, managing own portfolio, and supporting the overall work of the Key Relationships Team to achieve agreed targets.

To ensure that all contacts in your portfolio are provided with the highest level of customer care and take overall responsibility for your own annual work-plan.
To produce effective cases for support and other copy including application letters and reports, based on knowledge of projects and resources.
To proactively identify, research and develop High Value givers, whether giving as individuals or through trusts or companies.
To initiate, develop and manage relationships with a caseload of donors, informing, educating and inspiring them about the charitys work, and asking them for donations either directly, in application or facilitating asks by peers.
To ensure the upkeep of an up to date database of all existing and prospective donors.
To support the development of innovative donor engagement events.
To represent the charity at external events and networking opportunities.


The Candidate
Experience in Major Donor or Corporate fundraising role, preferably international development or human rights but not essential.
Experience and good knowledge of major donor fundraising, specifically High Value (Mid-Donor) and non-UK markets (GCC.
Understanding of overseas development issues.
Personable and compelling, with the confidence and gravitas/authority to persuade people at all levels.
Experience of investigating, collating, summarising and disseminating fundraising research.
Experience of writing & presenting cases for support; excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong project management; strong and self-servicing administrative, IT and budget monitoring skills.
Knowledge and understanding of current affairs in the Middle East region.
Experience of using a supporter database for data management, analysis, and communications planning
Ability to work weekends/evenings on occasion to support events and other activities in the UK
