There are three roles available; one covering the North of England, one covering North London & East Anglia and one covering South London & the South East of England. These roles will also require travel to the National Office in North Greenwich, London on a regular basis as well as travel to our services in the region 2-3 days a week. These roles are all home-based.

With the building of a new Community Fundraising team headed up by the newly appointed Head of Community and Events, Jenny Flack, comes the opportunity to help devise and implement a brand new fundraising strategy that promises innovation and collaboration to achieve an ambitious 2021 target.

Detailed Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain strong relationships and provide an excellent customer service with existing community fundraisers, including Friends Groups, regional corporates and churches, to secure future donations and identify other areas of benefit to the charity.

Work with the Head of Community & Events Fundraising to develop and deliver the annual regional community budget including income and expenditure forecasts and reforecasts.

Support the Head of Community & Events to develop the national community fundraising plan and then implement in the region.

To build a pipeline and acquire new supporters including Friends Groups, individual fundraisers, regional corporates, local groups and associations and student groups.

Work with the Head of Community and Events and colleagues to develop the case for support for local community giving to Livability in line with the wider brand.

Lead, manage and monitor the volunteers you are responsible for via the management structure ensuring that volunteers are recruited, inducted, trained, supervised and appraised in line with Livability policies and procedure.

To report on all income and expenditure relating to the region's fundraising and to provide regular written reports on activity as directed by the Head of Community & Events.

Ensure the Raiser's Edge database is kept up to date in line with the Data Protection Act and other sector guidance as necessary.

Give talks and presentations to local organisations e.g. local businesses and community groups, to increase awareness of Livability and to generate financial support.

Working with the Communications Department, engage with local media, social media and PR to maximise publicity and awareness of Livability and its activities in the region.

Candidate's Profile

Person Specification:

Understanding of community fundraising and volunteer management

Understanding of the corporate fundraising environment and best practice

Basic awareness of marketing and PR

Experience of setting and working to budgets, meeting financial targets and completing plans

Experience of relationship management whether in a non-profit or sales setting

Experience of producing various communications, including written cases for support and verbal presentations to a high standard

Experience of working to tight deadlines whilst producing accurate work within a busy team environment

Excellent organisational skills including experience of planning and implementing local events

Excellent knowledge of word processing, spread sheets and presentation packages

Experience of using ICT and databases

Stewardship planning for volunteer fundraisers and/or corporate organisations

Confident, professional and presentable

Excellent team working skills with ability to react positively to the needs of other teams and objectives

An effective networker, able to build strong relationships

Willing to work unsocial hours, including evenings and weekends of which you will be awarded Time Off in Lieu

Access to own car

Travel across the region and to our National Office in London when necessary

What's on offer

Livability are offering a salary of between £26,000 and £29,000 depending on experience, as well as excellent career opportunities.
