Use your financial expertise to tackle homelessness and social isolation

£48,000 - £50,000 pa, pension with 5% employer contribution, based in E1, 35 hours pw

Providence Row tackles the root causes of homelessness to help people get off, and stay off, the streets. We tackle complex issues, build skills and confidence, reconnect people with homes and communities at home and abroad, and empower change.  Our services include housing assessment and advice, specialist mental health and addiction workers, a learning programme, a training scheme and employment support.

We are looking for a Head of Finance and Resources as a key member of our leadership team.  The charity has significantly changed and grown over the past five years.  We are ambitious to develop sector leading services, using our property and assets to generate a high level of earned income.  We are innovative and ambitious about homeless people and what they can do to create a secure future for themselves.

Working closely with our Chief Executive you will:

  • Ensure the charity has robust financial and legal governance and long term financial planning in place;
  • Participate in the charity’s Leadership Team, providing input to strategy and deputising for the CEO;
  • Oversee the charity’s property portfolio including strategy, income generation and ensuring a high quality environment for staff and tenants;
  • Oversee the charity’s financial management systems;
  • Ensure the charity has a comprehensive, regularly reviewed suite of policies and procedures including HR;
  • Provide high quality line management to the members of the Finance and Resources Team.

You will bring to this role your experience, credibility and confidence as a fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA, CIPFA) working in the private, public or voluntary sector. You will have an excellent understanding of accounting practice and good financial governance.  Alongside your finance experience, you will have strong experience in at least one of the following areas: HR, IT, Facilities, Property strategy.  As a “can do” person, you will manage a small but growing team to deliver excellent infrastructure support to the whole charity.
