Position: Side by Side Manager – Community Support (Burney) 
Location: Burnley 
Contract type: Fixed term contract ending 31 March 2017 
Hours: 35 per week 
Salary: £21,366 actual per annum

Are you an enthusiastic, passionate, experienced professional who would like to be part of developing and shaping an exciting new service for the Alzheimer’s Society? At Alzheimer’s Society, we invest in research, raise awareness of dementia and provide over 2000 local services across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. This new service which is being developed will aim to tackle issues around social inclusion and loneliness for people with dementia. 

The successful candidate will be working across health and social care with a range of professionals to develop an organic support and enablement service, which is intuitive to needs of people we support. 

About You: 
This influential role calls for a good understanding of dementia and proven ability to collaborate with external partners. You will recruit and support a team of volunteers as well as staff to provide a service in the community for people with dementia. You must also be an excellent communicator and listener who can lead, develop and inspire others. Excellent organisational skills are essential, and you are likely to have experience of working with statutory and voluntary agencies. Add to that your ability to travel independently and work flexible hours when necessary, this could include evenings and weekends and you will quickly establish yourself as a vital member of our team. 

This role is fixed term until March 2017 with the opportunity to extend.
