Alzheimer's Society is the UK's leading support and research charity for people with dementia, their families and carers. There are 850,000 people with dementia in the UK and numbers are set to rise to over 1 million by 2025. 

Position: Community Change Strategic Programme Manager (Flexible location)

Hours: 35 per week 
Salary: Depending on agreed office base: £56,333 – London, £52,063 – Surrounding London areas, £49,583 – National. All per annum (actual)

About the Role: 
Alzheimer’s Society is the UK’s leading support and research charity for people with dementia, their families and carers. There are 850,000 people with dementia in the UK and numbers are set to rise to over 1 million by 2025. 

Joining the Society at an exciting time as we invest in our drive to secure change so people with dementia can participate on their own terms and shape their community around them with us, you will take a lead role in developing our national flagship community change programmes which have hundreds of thousands of people involved in them. 

As the first point of contact for the delivery of our community change programmes you will develop strategies to maximise reach of the programmes, ensure quality, trial new initiatives and align innovation with the Society’s new strategy and business development plans. 

You will lead the operational teams delivering Dementia Friends and enabling Dementia Friendly Communities at regional and local level across England, supporting your teams to harness the power of volunteers to give their time and energy to secure change. This is a period of growth for our community change programmes, working to stretching targets. 

About You: 
We’re looking for an experienced individual with a track record of designing , delivering and evaluating the effectiveness of community change programmes evolving them to stay relevant to the people they are supporting, continually surprise and delight volunteers who are involved in them, change attitudes of everyone who participates and influence decision-makers. You will be adept at navigating and positively influencing in a complex organisation, generating excitement and enthusiasm for the work you are leading. 

You will also be familiar with working to targets and celebrating widely when achievements are reached – you want everyone to hear about our community change programmes and want to be a part of them!
