In the UK our role is to raise funds needed to carry out programme work internationally, to motivate and engage our supporters and the general public and to campaign for change.

We have undergone, and continue to undergo a period of considerable change, implementing new business models and working with greater flexibility in order to deliver our organisational priorities as well as greater internal efficiency.

Our effectiveness is dependent on having robust HR policies and procedures, attracting high calibre professionals and nurturing top talent.

As Head of HR & OD you will assist the senior leadership team in setting the strategic direction of HR activities in the UK and you will ensure that all elements contribute directly to the achievement of organisational goals.

You will provide leadership and strategic direction to the HR team, ensuring they are equipped to provide a high quality service. You will also lead on the design of an all-encompassing HR strategy with a focus on organisational and culture change, resourcing and developing employee potential.

In addition to delivering HR best practice, we will look to you to modernise management and leadership practices, provide professional advice to our senior team on people related issues, improve employee engagement and to build our reputation as an employer of choice.

You are CIPD qualified and you have an impressive record of developing HR strategy in a similar senior level role. You are skilled at reviewing HR structures and business processes and you should be expert in developing higher levels of staff engagement and leadership capability.

In addition to being highly knowledgeable on UK Employment Law, you are a strong project manager and are able to make sound financial decisions and control budgets too.

You will also have experience of developing policy and procedures along with expertise in working with and negotiating with Trade Unions. Having implemented employee resourcing and talent management processes, you are able to support senior managers with sound HR advice. In addition, you will have in-depth knowledge of rewards and benefits packages.
