Sessional Worker - Adoption Support Service 

Our client has been building stronger families since 1869, and today works with over 45,000 families and children through 120 community based services. Thousands more are supported with financial assistance through education and welfare grants programmes. 

Position: Sessional Worker Adoption Support Service 
Location: Lincolnshire and the East Midlands 
Hours: As and when, to meet the needs of adoptive families. 
Salary: £13.33 per hour 

Closing date: November 1st 2016 
Interview date: Week Commencing November 7th 2016 

About the role: 

Our client is seeking to appoint to team of Sessional Adoption Support Workers who will work directly with Adoptive families as and when required. You will receive guidance, support and supervision from a designated Senior Adoption Support Worker. 

The Sessional Adoption Support Workers will provide focused, time limited pieces of work for adoptive families to improve relationships, enabling adoptive children and young people to achieve better outcomes. You will enable adoptive children / young people and adoptive parents to gain confidence in their abilities, strengths and their qualities, which will promote stronger, resilient families. 

About you: 

You will be educated to level three or above with a recognised professional qualification in social work, health, education or equivalent, and evidence of a commitment to continuing learning and professional development is essential. Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance relating to children, young people, and adoptive families is necessary. 

You will have experience of working with adoptive families and/or vulnerable families in a professional capacity, as well as an understanding of attachment, child development and the impact of trauma. Excellent listening and communication skills are required. You will also have an understanding of the governments Adoption Agenda, and be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of adoptive families. 

You will also need to have the ability to travel for this role in order to meet the needs of the service.
