The Air Ambulance Service is a registered charity which operates the National Children’s Air Ambulance and two regional Helicopter Emergency Medical Services in the Midlands. It is a driven and very successful organisation that makes a huge impact benefitting people and families across the UK. With year on year growth since its beginning in 2003 it continues to improve emergency healthcare without any Government funding. It does so by having a creative, courageous and compassionate ethos and a culture of high performance and successful outcomes. 

Position: Trustees and Trading Board Directors 
Location: National 
Salary: Non remunerated posts, but all reasonable travel expenses will be met

About the role: 
With the huge expansion over the last five years and further expansion planned in the next three, we are now looking to increase the skill set of our Board of Trustees and Trading Company Board. 

These are non-remunerated posts but all reasonable travel expenses will be met. 

Board meetings are held 4 times each year alternately between Rugby, Warwickshire and London Covent Garden. Applicants must be willing to attend meetings and engage in dialogue outside of such when required. 

Trustees have a legal responsibility to ensure the Charity and its employees deliver its objectives and uphold all legal and financial responsibilities. 

About you: 
We are looking for candidates with board level experience and success in three particular areas: 

-Governance or significant senior management with a recognised national charity 
-High street retail and/or online sales and marketing 
-Entrepreneurial business with a £20m + turnover 

Candidates must share our values of creativity, courage and compassion and be comfortable with a charity that is business like and has a commercial mind-set in the belief that success funds the much needed services we provide and enables us to continually develop rather than rest on laurels. 

You must not currently preside in any role that would have a conflict of interest regarding this charity. The appointment will be subject to referencing including a detailed credit check and an enhanced DBS check. 

You may have experience of the following: Trustees and Trading Board Director, Not For Profit, Director, Board Director, Chair, Chairperson, Charity, Trustees, Board Member, Commercial, etc.
