Macmillan Cancer Support is the UK’s leading cancer care charity, supporting millions of people every year. We are one of the UK’s top five charity brands with a track record of creating innovative partnerships with companies.

This role sits within the New Business Team, who are part of Macmillan’s Corporate Partnerships team. As part of our sector leading new business team, you will be responsible for securing high value, long term charity partnerships for Macmillan with companies based in London, the South East and Eastern England.

You’ll proactively prospect and cultivate companies to build a robust pipeline to win new corporate partnerships with an annual value of between £30k-£150k.

Key Duties:

  • Developing a pipeline of prospects, creating a diverse portfolio across Charity of the Year, commercial and other opportunities
  • Following the sales cycle process for all prospects
  • Creating winning proposals, applications and pitches
  • Supporting the Senior New Business Manager and the wider team on the larger partnership opportunities
  • Keeping accurate, up to date database records and pipeline
  • Building relationships with internal teams across Macmillan
  • Building and cultivating relationships with key stakeholders within our corporate prospects

This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the most successful Corporate Partnerships Teams in the sector, working for an ambitious organisation committed to improving the lives of people affected by cancer.

What we’re looking for:
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of achieving targets and generating substantial new business, preferably gained from working within a corporate fundraising team in a previous role. However, we will also consider experience gained from the corporate sector e.g. a consultative sales role.

We want to see someone with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience in securing partnerships. Experience of writing charity of the year applications and delivering pitch presentations would be beneficial but not essential.

You will be a driven self starter and tenacious, able to effectively manage your own workload and set yourself deadlines, able to achieve under pressure and deal proactively with setbacks and challenges.

Ideally you will have strong negotiation skills, with an understanding of the sales cycle and differing negotiation tactics, with the ability to put these into practice.

What we can offer you:
We commit to actively develop you and offer excellent benefits including a 34.5 hour week (with an early finish on Friday), a company car or car allowance will be provided, BUPA, life assurance, pension, childcare vouchers, generous annual leave and interest free loans for season tickets and gym membership. Macmillan runs a sector-leading personal development programme, investing in you and your future.

Some out of hours work is to be expected and a full, current driving licence is essential. This role requires regular travel within London, the South East and Eastern England. This role is home based but we can consider an office location at our head office for the right candidate.
