Our client is the UK's leading support and research charity for people with dementia, their families and carers. There are 850,000 people with dementia in the UK and numbers are set to rise to over 1 million by 2025. 

Position: Advocate 
Location: Belfast (with Travel across Northern Ireland) 
Contract type: Permanent 
Hours: 35 hours per week 
Salary: £19,642 per annum (actual)

About the Role: 

Our client is commissioned by the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust to offer an independent service for people living with Dementia and people affected by Dementia in the Belfast area. The role of an Advocate is to assist the person with dementia to voice their views, wishes, and feelings; while ensuring the person’s rights are upheld and their voice is represented. As an advocate you will participate in a multi-agency setting and contribute to maintenance, promotion and development of the local service. The Advocacy service is offered by advocates in a formally supervised environment. 

About You: 

The ideal candidate will be able to effectively and professionally manage an individual case load of service users working within the principles of the provision of advocacy within our client's standards and comply with the National Advocacy Charters as appropriate.
