Head of Fundraising
As one of Bristol’s largest and best-loved charities, the opportunity to join us as Head of Fundraising is a rare one. With 80% of the £19,000 per day that it costs to provide our care having to come from charitable sources, it is also a critical role.
After 9 years, the last two of which have seen our fundraising income reach record-breaking levels, our Head of Fundraising has decided to move on at the end of the current financial year (March 2017). Consequently, we are looking for an experienced senior manager who has the drive and ambition to take up this role and take us to even greater success. Most importantly, the successful candidate must also be able to lead and develop a highly effective team of motivated and enthusiastic fundraisers as well as our invaluable fundraising volunteers.
Responsible for regular giving, donor development and appeals, events, trusts, corporate and community fundraising, as well as our local lottery scheme, the role is as diverse as it is interesting. Reporting to the Commercial Director and based at our Long Ashton office, you will also be comfortable working in partnership with other Heads of Department including, within our commercial directorate, Retail, Business Management, Marketing, Communications and PR.
You will need to have a successful track record in fundraising or sales and marketing, and demonstrate the commercial and financial awareness to contribute at a senior level in a medium sized, but complex, organisation. You will have excellent communication skills, empathy with the values of the hospice movement and the ability to build positive working relationships at all levels in the community.
