Salary: c.£38,000 subject to experience
Status: Full-time permanent position. Please note that this post is applicable to women only. The role is covered by a Genuine Occupational Requirement (schedule 9: Equality Act 2010)
Location: Birmingham based but requires travel throughout the West Midlands region
Birmingham & Solihull Women’s Aid (BSWA) has for over 35 years supported women and children affected by violence against women issues, including domestic violence, rape and sexual assault, forced marriage and female genital mutilation. BSWA believes that women and children have the right to live free from violence, abuse and fear.
Working in close partnership with agencies such as housing and the police BSWA looks to ensure the best outcomes for women and their children. One-to-one tailored support services deliver long-term positive outcomes by addressing all needs including poverty, debt, homelessness, housing, legal issues, health and wellbeing.
This is a challenging opportunity for a dynamic and creative fundraiser to play a leading role in securing the funds needed to support the work of the organisation and to build on existing services. You will be responsible for identifying funding opportunities and securing funding through charitable, corporate and individual sources.
You will be at the forefront of developing a new strategy for fundraising, building and maintaining long term relationships/corporate partnerships with charitable trusts, professional and commercial organisations, individuals and others with an interest in the work of BSWA.
The Person We Seek
You will be an experienced fundraiser with a track record of securing significant funds from trusts, corporates, major donors, special events and the community. With strong links and networks you will help in ensuring the ongoing success of BSWA.
Line managing a small team, you will be responsible for further development of the BSWA ‘brand`, ensuring market profile. You will also possess excellent bid writing skills.
It is absolutely vital that you subscribe to the objectives of BSWA and can demonstrate that you will bring a high degree of energy and initiative to the role. You will also be able to demonstrate that you possess strong interpersonal, communication and relationship management skills.
