Dementia Support Worker   A great role supporting people with dementia and their carers.   Alzheimer's Society is the UK's leading support and research charity for people with dementia, their families and carers. About the Role:   We are looking for a well-motivated individual with a good understanding of dementia to join our team in Wigan delivering a range of services to people with dementia and their carers.   As a Dementia Support Worker you will support the carers of people with dementia who are nearing crisis or breakdown, and will provide, signposting, and referring to other services as appropriate. The service is unique to each carer as it’s based upon their personal circumstances and support needs. The role will also include facilitating carer support groups.   About You:   Your ability to asses client needs along with the understanding of client confidentiality is essential to providing a valuable and worthwhile service. To be successful in this role you will have excellent non-judgemental communication as well as strong organisation and time management skills in order to manage your caseload of clients effectively. Your IT skills will also need to be of a high calibre, as we keep exemplary computerised data records of our service users.
