Hundreds of families, facing the loss of a child, or struggling to adjust to a new life without a young loved one, need you to keep Rainbows Hospice central to their support network.

Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People exist to deliver the very best care and support to children and young adults who are living with life-threatening and life–limiting conditions as well as their families who need our support.

Few of us can begin to understand how it feels to be a child or young adult with a life-limiting condition – or a member of their family. But we can all understand that they deserve the very best care and support. Here at Rainbows, that’s exactly what we aim to provide for children and young adults across the East Midlands. Working within a purpose built hospice and a growing community-based service, our team of staff delivers individualised palliative and respite care at a time when families need us the most.

As our CEO, you will inspire, motivate and lead a dedicated team and a committed supporter base.  You will have the vision and drive to take us through the next stage of our development, reaching even more families across the counties we serve: Leicestershire, Rutland, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Northants.

There are very few jobs like this one, so it will take someone very special to succeed in delivering the loving, compassionate care that we’re renowned for.  It’s an exciting time to be joining Rainbows as we have ambitious plans to extend our services. There are certainly plenty of challenges ahead as service demands rise and funding comes under increasing pressure. That’s why you will need to be an outstanding planner and communicator who can inspire and empower your senior management team to meet every one of those challenges and shape our future based on a shared pursuit of excellence.

Our aim is to be there when needed, which does not happen by chance.  It requires a complex and well-managed business operation to deliver excellence in care, dynamism within our income generation team and a well-oiled back-office acting as an effective business enabler.  As CEO, you will need a commercially focused approach with an appreciation of the demands of the charity sector, have already proven your ability to develop strategic plans across multi-functional teams and demonstrated a real aptitude in steering an organisation as it continues to grow.

As a Centre of Excellence and a leading East Midlands charity, our CEO is at the forefront in raising our profile and developing long-lasting relationships with a broad range of external bodies.  Excellent presentation and networking skills, are a pre requisite.

So, who do we need to take Rainbows forward?  We are seeking a Chief Executive Officer who is experienced at leading from the front and gets what it takes to keep all the parts of a complex organisation moving and with pace. Sitting still and business-as-usual is simply not an option for the families that we’re here for.

If this is you, please submit your application. Benefits include 35 days holidays (including bank holidays), Pension, Occupational Health, Healthcare cash plan scheme; Childcare vouchers and more.
