Police Dependants’ Trust

The Police Dependants’ Trust is an independent charity that provides support to serving and retired police officers and their dependants when they need it the most. We promote the efficiency of the police service across the UK by making a range of grants tailored specifically to the needs of our beneficiaries. Since our inception we have paid out in excess of £45M, supporting thousands of people in need.

The police service and statutory services are going through periods of unprecedented change, as is the Trust.  This year marks our 50th anniversary and we remain highly focused and committed to helping police officers and their dependants.

To support our future ambitions, we have created a new role of Head of Communications and Fundraising. We are seeking a highly talented individual who will develop and execute a comprehensive communications and income generation strategy. You will lead an organisational rebranding process, raise our profile, engage with a wide range of opinion formers and develop the key policies and systems to support this whilst we broaden our services and diversify our income base.

To be successful, you will be a superb communicator and comfortable taking a lead role as an external ambassador. You will be politically astute and emotionally intelligent, with significant experience of operating both strategically and operationally. Previous experience of operating within this environment is not essential, but a genuine empathy with the police service and the physical and psychological welfare needs of police officers and their families is a must.

If you feel you have the skill set, experience and passion to help us grow and transform, please do apply.  For more information and how to apply, please visit www.attenti.co.uk/pdthcf

For an informal and confidential discussion, having first read the Appointment Brief, please contact one of our advising consultants, Jim Banks, Andreea Pohus, or David Fielding at Attenti on 020 7422 0620.

Closing date for applications: Sunday 23rd October 2016.
